MEET BRYAN LOPEZ

As a lifelong Norwalk resident, I have always felt a deep connection to my community through my upbringing and experiences. Growing up here, I've had the pleasure of being actively involved in our city’s events and activities from a young age. Whether participating in local events or cheering at games at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex gymnasium, Norwalk has always been home.

My educational journey took me to UC Riverside, Cal State LA, and Pepperdine University, where I earned a bachelor’s in public policy, a Master’s in Public Administration, and a Master’s in Dispute Resolution. These academic achievements have equipped me with the knowledge to effectively navigate the complexities of local government and provide solutions to pressing issues. Beyond my studies, I’ve always believed in giving back to the community that shaped me. I’ve coached youth basketball and volunteered as a referee, dedicating my time to helping young athletes develop skills both on and off the court.

Homelessness is an issue that deeply affects our city and region. I participated in the LAHSA homeless count, working alongside other volunteers to better address this pressing challenge. As a former Norwalk commissioner, I had the privilege of helping organize beloved city events like summer concerts and holiday toy drives, ensuring that Norwalk lives up to its motto of being a connected community. My work as a social worker has provided me with firsthand experience in supporting our elderly population, ensuring they can sustain their livelihoods with dignity.

Professionally, my education in public administration, dispute resolution, and social work uniquely positions me to be a strong civic leader in Norwalk. My experience in public service, coupled with deep community ties, allows me to approach issues like housing, economic development, public safety, and infrastructure with both strategic insight and compassion. Whether through my work with the elderly or my involvement in community initiatives, I’ve consistently sought to improve the lives of Norwalk residents across all generations. My commitment to public service, combined with my hands-on experience in Norwalk’s unique community dynamics, drives my passion for creating meaningful, lasting change in our city.
